Cheri A. Abbage

A native of Beaumont, Texas, and an aggressive attorney, Cheri A. Abbage has a rich mix of experience in both the private and public sectors of law, specifically in the fields of family law, bankruptcy, personal injury, criminal law, and civil litigation. Abbage received her B.A. in Psychology at The University of Texas (1994), and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law (1997).

Abbage began her legal career as the staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Lubbock, Texas where she represented clients in matrimonial and child custody cases. Abbage also served as the Staff Attorney and Executive Director for two nonprofit organizations, in New York, and Arkansas, respectively.

Upon her return to Texas, Abbage resumed the practice of law in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, personal injury, and criminal law.

Abbage now resides in McKinney, Texas, and is actively involved in her church and several nonprofit organizations.

Michelle Elaine Smith

Michelle Elaine Smith is a native Dallasite. She attended two high schools, The Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) and Bishop Dunne High School.

Upon graduation from Bishop Dunne, Michelle attended the prestigious Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Philosophy and a minor degree in Business Management. From Spelman, Michelle immediately entered into law school at the University of Wisconsin School of law in Madison, Wisconsin. There she concentrated her studies on Latin American Law, Family Law, International Law and Native American Law.

Michelle spent two and one half years at Wisconsin and then graduated; from there she went back to Atlanta and worked at Lockheed Martin in their in-house counsel section as a contract attorney on a class action discrimination lawsuit. In the year 2000, Michelle was employed at a Dallas based law firm, working in the bankruptcy section. After two years of practicing bankruptcy law, Michelle began her own law practice known as The Smith Law Group.

Michelle Smith's practice areas are Estate Planning and Probate, Consumer Bankruptcy Law, Family Law and Business Formation.

She is dedicated to serving individuals with a high degree of legal knowledge and professional responsibility.

Michelle has been practicing law for 7 years.
